Get to know us
I have been working as a professional writer and editor for the past twelve years. In my experience as an academic editor, I have edited research papers and theses in the field of arts and humanities. As a writer, I have worked for fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Beautiful People and Indiawali Brides. I was also involved with writing scripts for television. I am also the published author of a book for schoolchildren, titled “Prayer Time Quest.” In 2008, I started the9words.
I have been working as a freelance writer with the9words for the past year. My focus areas include researching and writing articles on yoga, health and diet. My professional past includes a three-year stint at CNBC India and Times Now as a Features Producer. I have worked as a primary correspondent with Indian Television Dot Com, an online business magazine for the ad and television industry in India. Currently, I devote my time to freelance writing and spearheading social media marketing initiatives for non-profit organizations within my local community.
I started my career as a research and documentation associate with the Azim Premji Foundation and went on to lead several development programs with various NGOs in Delhi. I have had the pleasure of being a part of the 14 member National Knowledge Commission’s Workshop for producing recommendations on Education Reforms for the Government of India. I was also part of a 40 member nationwide team that developed and presented proposals for the inclusion of Design and Innovation in school curriculum to the National Knowledge Commission and Ministry of Human Resource Development. I was also the editor and chief contributor to a bi-monthly publication known as Student First. I have been associated with the9words for the past three years.
I am a sailor by profession, but writing has always been my first love. Despite having no prior exposure to the writing industry, I was determined to carve a niche for myself as a freelance writer. I am now a published author on EzineArticles, ArticlesBase, Chillibreeze and Suite101. I have also written articles for BPositive, a health and lifestyle magazine. As part of the9words, I have written numerous articles for the Everyday Health Network and other clients.
I am a media professional with experience in communications, research and strategic planning. I write for the9words as well as help with communications and development in a nonprofit organization based in Berkeley, California. Prior to my stint in the United States, I have worked in the Indian television industry, contributing to the the research and programming departments of leading names like Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited and Turner General Entertainment Networks India.
